SpeeDons 2025: a weekend of speedrunning in aid of Médecins du Monde

Fans of video games, retrogaming and good causes, you'll be aware that the fifth edition of SpeeDons is taking place from Thursday throughout the weekend!

Last year's SpeeDons was a huge success, raising €2,066,663 for Médecins du Monde and attracting 1.5 million viewers. For this 2025 edition, the objective is clear: to beat this record!

The project was initiated by MisterMV, who is hosting the event alongside a host of content creators including Zerator, Antoine Daniel, DamDam Live, Gom4rt, Hugo Délire, Jarmou and many others.

The best speedrunners will be on hand to finish both modern and retro games in record time: Zelda, Doom, MediEvil, Metal Slug, Resident Evil, Donkey Kong, Cuphead, Okami HD... In all, over 70 games are on the programme, so there's something for everyone!

As well as these performances, the streamers will be taking part in events, challenges and discussions about Médecins du Monde, highlighting the charity's work.

The event, which takes place in Lyon, is sold out. But if you want to support the initiative, you can follow the live stream on Twitch from MisterMV. There you'll find links for making donations, taking part in challenges in the form of bets or buying T-shirts, all in aid of Médecins du Monde.

If you'd like to follow a particular game, the weekend schedule is available at this link. You'll also find the full schedule at the bottom of the page.

If you're new to speedrun, you should know that it involves completing a video game as quickly as possible, exploiting techniques such as glitching or optimising every action for maximum efficiency. This discipline requires intensive training and in-depth knowledge of games.

For example, some players have set impressive world records, such as finishing Super Mario Bros. in 4 minutes 54 seconds and 881 milliseconds!
